Gaelic

Gaelic Language Learning is provided for all pupils from Nursery to P7 with the opportunity to continue at Tynecastle High School. We have four trained teachers who deliver Gaelic lessons and our Music Teacher teaches Gaelic songs throughout the school.

Pupils have participated enthusiastically in a variety of learning experiences.

In 2016 P7 pupils in a joint venture with Tynecastle students performed a drama at The Scottish National Library, The Scottish Storytelling Centre and in the Islands of Lewis, Harris & Skye.

In previous years, pupils have been trained as Junior Tour Guides at Edinburgh Castle performing for pupils from throughout the Central Belt.

Supported by the Music Teacher, pupils have annually achieved success at the Edinburgh Local Mòd.

Stenhouse pupils have also been in the Finals at the Scottish Education Awards – twice!
